My Number One Work-Related Red Flag: The Middle Age White Woman as Boss

My Number One Work-Related Red Flag: The Middle Age White Woman as Boss
Cupid's Shaving Brush: growing atop a building, an invasive Florida weed considered as a pest

I knew better. I did. Out of all the warning signs I previously listed, there is a flag so red it bleeds thickly out of its host, quickly onto its perceived opposition, and stains the entire fabric which surrounds it: a white woman principal (or supervisor) that is age 40+. She is at peak rancidity in her 50s. This is a distinct category of women who are not even slightly concerned with what leadership is. Their goal is to dominate and control. And they will use any means necessary to do so including plausible deniability, sabotage, and humiliation.

Younger white women, who have not [yet] achieved higher level leadership positions in school districts, are a bit different. They can be more friendly and accepting (at least outwardly and as long as you can mirror their behaviors). But this may be because as far as work is concerned, you [Black women] are their peers. And perhaps subconsciously, they believe that they are already superior, so the threat competition aspect has not reared its ugly head. Perhaps. Perhaps. I could be wrong. I have worked with some cool ass, down ass white chicks. This is just my current working theory.

I don't know if the middle aged white woman as school principal learned her behaviors from her male counterpart...or if she tyrannically lashes out because she is a fraud constantly trying to conceal her incompetence. It's probably both. And I could go on and on about patriarchy and capitalism to provide a framework for these behaviors...but this bitch doesn't deserve any rationalizations.

Have you witnessed something similar, or is it just a career in education type thing?
